Brewed
with
Purpose
Small-batch craft brews and fresh-baked goods, poured and pulled from our barn in the heart of the Outer Banks. Every sip, every bite — made to matter.
Our Story
A Barn Reimagined,
a Tradition Born
Blue 42's Brewing Barn began with a simple conviction: that great beer and honest bread belong in the same room, surrounded by people who appreciate both. What started as a weekend passion project in a converted barn on Caratoke Highway has grown into Moyock's gathering place for craft brewers, bakers, and curious neighbors.
We source locally whenever possible — local honey for our seasonal ales, flour from the Eastern Shore, and recipes passed down through generations of Outer Banks families. The result is a menu that tastes like this place: grounded, generous, and unpretentious.
The Craft
Beer Made
Slow & Intentional
Every batch at Blue 42's is brewed in small quantities, aged with patience, and tasted until it earns a place on our tap. We don't chase trends — we chase flavor.
Caratoke Amber
Our signature amber — a balanced, copper-colored ale with notes of toasted caramel and a clean, crisp finish. The beer that started it all.
Outer Banks IPA
A bold West Coast–inspired IPA with piney hop character and a resinous bite, balanced by a subtle honey sweetness from local Eastern Shore apiaries.
Barnyard Stout
A rich, velvety oatmeal stout with dark chocolate and espresso notes, finished with a whisper of vanilla. Our darkest expression, aged in oak for eight weeks.
Our tap list rotates seasonally. Visit us or call ahead to see what's flowing today.
From the Oven
Baked Fresh
Every Morning
While the beer ferments, our ovens are already running. We bake from scratch each dawn — sourdough loaves with a crackling crust, flaky butter croissants, and seasonal fruit tarts that shift with the Outer Banks harvest calendar.
Pair a warm loaf with a pint of Caratoke Amber, or grab a box of pastries for the road. Our bakery case is small by design — we'd rather make less and make it right.
- Wild-fermented sourdough, baked at 4:30 AM daily
- Butter croissants and pain au chocolat, made by hand
- Seasonal tarts and pies using local Eastern Shore produce
- House-made granola and morning loaves for take-home
